What is the Inner Child?
The "Inner Child" is an established framework in psychotherapy. It represents the sum of emotional imprints, early vulnerabilities, coping strategies, and core beliefs formed during childhood and stored within the unconscious mind. As adults, we often react unconsciously from these early childhood experiences during times of stress.
Psychological Framework
Inner Child work enables individuals to reframe unresolved childhood experiences using the perspective and resources of their present adult self.
Personal Perspective by Jan Mion (Hypnotherapist): "It is usually quite astounding to observe how much malice, harshness, and continuous criticism people harbor toward their own inner child. They harshly condemn themselves for behaviors that were actually innocent protective reactions of an overwhelmed child.
The major therapeutic breakthrough occurs when we guide clients to realize the profound innocence of their child self. When they stop being hard on themselves, it opens up an immense wealth of emotions, relief, and restored inner resources."
Healing in Session
In hypnosis, we connect your current adult awareness with the emotional experience of your younger self, providing the safety, validation, and acceptance needed at that time.
