From a human side, an online hypnosis session needs exactly the same preparation as offline: Generally none.
If you want to write down what exactly is bothering you and what the goal of hypnosis should be, then this is helpful. But it is not necessary.
However, from a technical point of view, it needs certain preparation:
The most important thing is working headphones. Most computer speakers do not have good sound and it often sounds far away.
With certain clients, we tried both speakers and headphones, and the headphones performed significantly better.
So, good headphones are the most important step and wireless ones are the best.
The second is the environment. As written at the beginning, one of the advantages of online hypnosis is the familiar environment, mostly at home.
Many have also set up a place to work in their home office.
However, this is probably not the best place for a relaxing trance.
It is best to find a place for an online appointment where you can really lie or sit comfortably and which is associated with coziness instead of work. Preferably also a place where there are no disturbances from pets, children, partners or other roommates. The cell phone should also be set to at least silent for an optimal trance.
The Internet connection should work without interference, so that the hypnosis treatment online is a success. Jerks or disturbances can severely disrupt the trance.
Also the device should be plugged in so that it does not turn off during the session. If the headphones are wireless, they should be charged beforehand.

What is possible with self-confidence?
Self-confidence.
When they read this word, most people have an image in mind. We notice when someone is self-confident. We see it, we hear it and we usually feel it too. You radiate self-confidence. There isn't really a clear checklist that we can follow, but we can feel the difference. But we can feel the difference. A lot happens unconsciously and automatically when we are self-confident. This is precisely why hypnosis can be so successful in treating a lack of self-confidence.
Very often self-esteem, self-confidence and self-assurance are used interchangeably. However, I think they describe different steps in one's own development. Hypnosis is a great help in each of these steps.
Someone who is self-aware is exactly that: self-aware. The more self-awareness you develop, the more self-aware you are. But what is the self that I can become aware of? You could also say: the more we become conscious of the unconscious mind the more we become aware of ourselves. And thus become self-aware.
This means that in order to become more self-aware through hypnosis, we have to become more aware of ourselves. If we are more on the same wavelength as the unconscious, then we automatically build up self-confidence. It is a first step that already brings a lot.
When we know what we can do and what we are not so good at, we have a plan of our own abilities. With this plan, we can then navigate the world better. We no longer have to hide, even if we are sometimes overwhelmed. Because we know what we have and what we can do.
When we interact with the world, we accumulate experiences. The more experiences we have, the more solidified our view of ourselves becomes. When our awareness of ourselves is confirmed, we can begin to trust it. We can build self-confidence.
Of course, there can always be moments that are new. However, with sufficiently strengthened self-confidence, we can assume that we can also deal with the unplanned. We can build up our self-confidence with hypnosis by strengthening our inner image of ourselves. If something doesn't work out as we expected, we can remain more relaxed.
If our confidence in our self-worth is rewarded often enough, it can become stronger. We gain self-confidence. If we are completely convinced of this, then we have the security that even negative experiences cannot overturn. We feel able to cope with situations, have a good feeling about them and are resistant to self-doubt.
If we are fully convinced of our abilities and do not adjust our self-image, we can stand still. It often happens that we lose our self-confidence and cling to our image. This then no longer corresponds to the facts and appears to be a form of infallibility. Too much self-confidence can also cause problems in social settings. It can then quickly turn into know-it-all behaviour and be seen as conceited, which is why it is important that we use hypnosis to build up more self-confidence on the inside and not just pretend on the outside.
All in all, we go through these steps in many skills and aspects of our lives. It can also be that we are confident in certain areas but not in others. However, if we build up enough self-confidence with hypnosis, we can always deal with it.
As a hypnotist, I am of course a fan of imagination, but it is also rather irritating when it comes to personality. It is the same when someone simulates self-confidence. Imaginary comes from imagining something. If you act as if you are self-confident, this appears to others as conceited. This is often met with rejection.
Many people who want to boost their self-confidence fall into the "conceited trap". "Pretending" doesn't work when it comes to self-confidence. Because you should be aware of yourself.
It is easy to see the advantages that a high level of self-confidence brings us. These are clear to see and are actually universally desirable. With self-confident people, many things look very simple. With enough self-confidence, we can also remain calm in conflicts and confrontations. We also remain spontaneous and relaxed in new situations. When we meet new people, we can make friends more quickly as a self-confident person. We can also no longer be overlooked at work. We can give presentations and stay cool. A confident appearance is also seen as competent and attractive. This also gives us better opportunities in relationships and love.
With so many advantages of self-confidence, it's easy to overlook the disadvantages. I don't just want to gloss over everything. Because to become more self-confident with hypnosis, we also have to say goodbye to things. Such profound changes in self-image can cause many feelings. Fear often arises when we step out of line, and in order to become aware of something, we have to take a close look. Even and especially where we are least comfortable.
Then we no longer have anyone else to blame. There are then no more excuses, the responsibility for our lives lies with us. Those who are self-confident can no longer put anything off. There is also no more room for self-pity. Instead, being honest with yourself brings great relief and a boost of energy. If we use hypnosis to strengthen our self-confidence and radiate self-assurance, we can defy all headwinds.
It's not just the way we deal with ourselves that changes when we become more self-confident. Those who have no opinion and only live for others will not be rejected. This is not popularity, but it is not unpopularity either. When we start to stand up for ourselves and assert ourselves, the superficiality with other people disappears. This can and will lead to rejection from certain people. So in order to properly train our self-confidence, we also have to accept not being liked. Those who say what they think cannot have an excessive need for harmony. When we are self-confident, we can often no longer avoid conflict. It is difficult to duck with a straight, self-confident back.
Of course, none of this comes out of the blue. As the effects of hypnosis build up our self-confidence, both the advantages and disadvantages become noticeable. It will also create an inner robustness and resilience that will allow us to deal with everything better. Are we increasing self-confidence with hypnosis or are we removing all the blocks that have stood in the way of self-confidence? A bit of both.
Self-confidence and self-awareness are built up bit by bit and not all at once.
Most of my clients have more self-confidence after hypnotherapy. This happens all by itself when we have a little more connection to our inner self. When we remove inner blockages and listen to our unconscious, we automatically come into harmony with ourselves. This balance is also important for a self-confident demeanour. When we are no longer afraid of the consequences, we can also let go of our inhibitions

Nowadays, burnout has been called a widespread disease. So many have already achieved good results with hypnosis therapy for burnout.
For anyone who is no longer resilient after a burnout, or would like to prevent a threatening burnout, hypnosis is warmly recommended.
Burnout is not known to be a clearly defined disease, but there are certain patterns.
These are usually unconscious in nature and often very much linked to one's own identity. The observations of orthodox psychology and the hypnotic view overlap in this respect.
Therefore, in the burnout treatment with hypnosis, we move away from pure thinking, from pure must and should, and go one level deeper. The treatment of burnout with hypnosis therapy facilitates the way back into a balanced life.
There are many factors that can promote burnout. Most of the time it is work, but it can also lead the family or certain stressful relationships to the point where the burnout stops.
Most people with burnout have something essential in common: they do not listen to themselves (well enough).
Of course, the word "burnout" in the sense of "burn out" is a good term. Especially for business people it sounds better than "exhaustion depression".
This burnout comes from going over your limit for a long time. This is only possible if you ignore all warnings.
So if you do not listen to yourself, who do you listen to?
Now, if you do not define yourself from the inside, you are defined from the outside. Those who ignore themselves rarely do so for themselves. Those who ignore themselves over a longer period of time in such a way that the body can only pull the emergency brake, have obviously put much more externally than their own needs.
Even those who have driven themselves into collapse in order to be "better than the others" or "perfect" let the inside be influenced by the outside.
Anyone who adapts to external demands without control and thus pursues unsatisfactory goals or makes seemingly unattainable demands on himself has the long and repetitive stress that is often the cause of burnout.
If you now think as a reader: "That's not true, I caused my exhaustion myself" then you do again what led you here: You won't leave yourself alone.
How to define your own identity, whether from the outside or the inside, is something you are often taught in childhood. Sometimes not even explicitly, but by looking. Children usually take over the atmosphere of their parents and when they have adopted the figurative sense of "only those who perform are worth something" or "you are what others think of you" or "only perfect is good enough", then the foundation for burnout is laid. (By the way, these were all attitudes of real clients from my practice).
In general, this puts the value of the exterior over the self value.
Then all you need to do is obey these rules and of course a lot of hard work to collapse at some point.
If one's own inner attitude of "one should" or "one should" goes beyond one's own energy limits, then it is all the more understandable that the unconscious is stepping more and more firmly on the brakes. The mental and physical exhaustion can become greater and greater.
Headaches, fatigue or even physical pain or intestinal problems can be the prompt to stop.
Also psychologically there are mostly stop signals. On the one hand, these can be dejection, depression and lack of drive. On the one hand, there is also irritability and cynicism. A wounded tiger fights the hardest as is known.
If one's own wishes or values are ignored, a feeling of worthlessness and inner emptiness is not surprising.
The sense for oneself is more and more suppressed to be efficient. Because of this the whole senselessness and humorlessness is a logical consequence.
These symptoms can be stress-inducing and stress-inducing at the same time. Because this one-sided way of life often produces even more problems.
Many people who are "suffering from burnout" feel helpless at first. Some also see themselves as victims of their circumstances. This is true in a certain way, but the goal is to have an influence.
You don't necessarily have to look for a new job for positive changes. Often it is enough if you don't put up with everything anymore.
This is easier said than done for the conscious mind. But if we have hypnosis on our side, we can directly address the unconscious. The goal is that what has come from the outside in the past will come from the inside afterwards. Every human being can develop a sense for himself in all areas and whoever wants to heal his burnout must first heal his soul.
Neither one's identity nor fulfillment should come from "functioning" or from work. The healing time of burnout also depends on how quickly one finds one's way to this healthy inner being and how quickly one abandons old demands on oneself.
Only when you fully stand by yourself can you really get away from burnout and avoid relapses.
In hypnotherapy we also develop the inner strength and determination to draw boundaries and say "no" when it becomes too much.
A careful use of one's own energy also needs the inner permission to put one's own needs above others. That is why we work towards this goal.
Many people mistakenly believe that balance comes from "a bit of one and a bit of the other". However, this is not the case.
We do not want to "sleep a bit and be a bit awake". A life in balance comes from being fully awake and fully asleep.
This inner balance makes it possible to become fully efficient again even in certain phases, as long as it is balanced with full, shameless recovery.
I write "shamelessly" because many burnout sufferers tell of a bad conscience when they are not "doing". Such nonsense is also rigorously hypnotized away and replaced by a healthy self-respect.
The treatment of burnout requires a certain inner attitude change. These attitudes are usually deeply rooted in one's own identity. In order to start defining oneself from the inside instead of the outside, one needs access to unconscious processes. These can be influenced by hypnosis.
For this reason hypnosis therapy is a very good therapy method to treat burnout.
Hypnosis helps against nail biting because the background of nail biting can be directly addressed by means of hypnosis therapy. The triggers of nail biting are also treated.
Whether it is a compulsion to bite one's nails or a habit of doing so, the cause is usually in the unconscious. With hypnosis therapy these are not only dissolved but also replaced by more positive behavioral patterns. We do this to prevent relapses as far as possible.
Hypnosis therapy against nail biting has a very high success rate because changing unconscious processes is one of the best uses of hypnosis.
Nail biting, with the technical term onychophagy, is almost always caused by psychological factors. For most of those affected, the biting of the fingernails begins as a substitute for something else.
This means it is very often a valve for accumulated internal pressure. This inner restlessness can be caused by many different feelings. Not only nervousness or stress can trigger nail biting, but also boredom. Even the classic image of biting nails out of fear is sometimes true.
Thus, the biting of fingernails can often be traced back to feelings, which in one way or another are diverted into nail biting.
One specific case concerns counterfeiting. This is often the case with clients who as children have started to copy someone who bites nails. Often children copy the stress reduction methods used by their role models.
In principle, as with many substitute satisfactions, an addiction can develop in which the person concerned feels that he or she must chew. This is often considered negative. The resulting stress can in turn lead to more chewing.
In many cases, nail busters have a certain amount of inner restlessness or nervousness. So it is not surprising that people with ADHD often bite their nails as well. People who otherwise have a lot of excess energy also tend to bite their nails, especially in moments when there is nothing to do. Then it shows up as a kind of nervous tick.
In my experience with nail biting, clients are also often present who tend to avoid confrontation and do not claw out as often as the unconscious would like. The unconscious then sometimes symbolically makes them bite their fingernails.
If there is a great inner desire for harmony, nail-biting can occur more often when a conflict is foreseeable. Mostly, however, it is a certain inner basic nervousness that favours biting.
Most of those affected are women, but there are also more and more men visiting me to treat their nail chewing.
As mentioned above, children can also start to bite their fingernails. This can occur if the child has copied it from parents or siblings, for example.
Or it was discovered by the child itself. This often has to do with the fact that this accumulated energy has no release valve. Even if it often disappears on its own, it is sometimes necessary to intervene. This is especially the case when children massively damage their nails and nail beds.
Chewing of fingernails can be pronounced to varying degrees. From light biting of the nails to severe self-injury, many things are possible. Also the combination of nail biting and gnawing off cuticles occurs.
When the habit becomes a sort of addiction, injuries such as a bloody bed of nails or even deformed fingernails can occur. The harder it is to bite the nails, the more difficult it is to treat.
In severe cases, it is usually complex problems that need to be solved.
If you have failed to stop biting your nails with yourself, then the question arises: "What can you do against nail biting? There are many products that can help you get rid of this annoying habit.
Many of my clients tried it with gel nails first. Most of the time, however, they simply offer more "surface to attack" and are chewed through again within a short time. Gel nails may help to protect your own fingernails a little, but they are not suitable for chewing nails. Because all external aids have something in common: they only treat the symptoms, not the trigger.
We can have the most success in treating nail biting if we treat the causes behind the impulses.
That is why psychology and above all hypnosis helps best.
Hypnosis solutions against nail biting
The causes of nail biting are found in the subconscious. If we want to treat nail biting effectively, we need to change these basic behaviors and how we deal with feelings of stress or boredom.
That is why hypnosis is also so well suited to wean you off nail biting. Because with hypnosis we can communicate with the unconscious in a way that is otherwise hardly possible.
The first step in the treatment with hypnosis is to create a pleasant form of relaxation. The hypnotic trance in itself is very relaxing and with the right suggestions a relaxing atmosphere can be created.
In the state of hypnosis it is possible to analyze stressful moments without immediately becoming tense again.
If there is a nervous mood, it will be reduced step by step and replaced by a state of relaxation. This state can also be anchored in the unconscious, e.g. to be used again in future self-hypnoses.
The next step is to break the habit.
This means that we offer the subconscious alternatives to biting our fingernails. By breaking the habit we can guide the unconscious processes in a different, better direction.
In this way, we reduce the moments in which the fingernails are chewed out of habit. By this I mean those moments in which chewing is not a forced hand and one does not "have to" chew. This is where we can achieve the fastest results.
Sometimes the subconscious needs several alternative behaviors. But it is also important for the conscious mind to realize that there is also another possibility.
If the nail biting occurs mainly in certain situations, I go through these situations in the trance suggesting new ways of dealing with them. These kinds of posthypnotic suggestions are then activated in the respective moments.
With these measures the habit can be completely removed and replaced with something more useful.
If nail biting is perceived as an addiction, the treatment is similar to how we treat addictions.
If nail biting has become really bad or it has become a real kind of an addiction, then there is usually something more serious involved. In such situations I focus on the person sitting in front of me and not just on the fingernails.
Many clients have given me feedback that this was significant for their change. Especially if there is something bigger behind it, it is important to discuss all possible causes.
My goal is to pick up all my clients where they come from, so that I can really lead them on the path to success.
The stronger the self is, the better the impulse control works. In most cases, stressful or tense situations cannot be avoided completely in life. Therefore it is important that we can control the impulse that leads the fingernails into the mouth early enough.
Especially in the initial phase, when we have just stopped biting our nails, this can be of great importance.
In the last step the relapse prophylaxis is in the main concern
When the unconscious no longer automatically or addictionally resorts to biting fingernails, it is important to consolidate this change. It is often important to strengthen the self and reduce a possible nervous mood.
As mentioned above, hypnosis calls this "post-hypnotic suggestion" and is often used in the "if, then..." format. Thus the unconscious has a guideline in the future how to stay away from nail-biting.
Hypnosis therapy is one of the most effective methods to stop nail biting. By working with the unconscious, the danger of relapse is also massively reduced. Other aspects, such as stress resistance, can also be positively influenced. Nail biting can be stopped well and safely.
How quickly the full change takes place varies from person to person. A first improvement is often noticed after the first session. Most of my clients need between 1-3 sessions to stop biting their nails.

Fear of heights ranges from a queasy feeling to full panic. Hypnotherapy is a good treatment method to get rid of fear of heights. I have summarized here the most important aspects of treating vertigo with hypnosis.
With the name fear of heights one would think that it is a fear of heights. Most of the time this is true, but sometimes a few meters are enough to trigger the fear. So most people who suffer from this fear have a so-called fear height. So a height where the feeling of safety changes to fear. This fear should not be confused with the vertigo that most people have.
The fear of heights also has an influence from fear of losing control. Often the fear of heights is also called fear of falling. This is because there is often a component of fear of losing control over oneself and falling.
That is why there are certain people who only suffer from this acrophobia when they are outdoors.
So the height alone does not cause fear, but first of all only a queasy feeling. Mostly the fantasy and the ideas of what could happen turn this feeling into a real fear.
Since mental images are significantly involved, hypnosis is also an effective treatment method.
So that we can explain how hypnosis therapy works with fear of heights, we must first also know how it develops.
Out of the blue, the unconscious hardly declares anything dangerous. This may have been a clear experience or a creeping process.
Often a dizziness occurs for the first time. The so-called psychogenic dizziness can sometimes even lead to almost fainting. Through such an experience the height is then often classified as a source of danger.
For the treatment with hypnosis it is not necessary to know exactly how the fear of heights developed, because we usually treat for all possibilities. However, I have clients who ask themselves again and again how their problem arose.
If the fear of heights is based on a bad experience with heights, then this is not surprising. Since fear of heights or vertigo affects all people who are at certain heights, this type of development is widespread.
Mostly the unconscious declares the height to be dangerous after this queasy feeling has developed. If this is recognized as a danger, the unconscious protects the affected persons by keeping them away from such situations. The height becomes the trigger of the fear reaction.
The danger of falling increases with age, so that the level of anxiety in older people becomes lower. Sometimes even a fear of falling during normal standing and walking.
The unconscious creates our reality from all the information it receives. If this includes inner negative ideas, these are included. Therefore it sometimes happens that even without negative experiences a fear of heights arises.
That means it arises because you imagine what could happen. The idea of losing control and crashing thus triggers and can also increase fear.
The worse the mental horror stories are, the greater the fear and panic.
Hypnotherapy has many advantages in the treatment of fear of flying. The therapy includes different methods to reduce the inner discomfort and to transform the exaggerated fear into a healthy caution.
The positive changes of hypnosis are not only reduced to fear. Because states such as self-confidence can be useful anywhere in life.
The treatment is similar to the treatment of fear of flying with hypnosis.

Anyone who feels confident in dealing with a situation also feels safe. The safety when you are at lofty heights is also largely due to your self-confidence.
By means of hypnosis we strengthen the connection with the inner parts that are responsible for the automatisms like walking. In the hypnotic trance we learn that the legs will continue to walk even if they are not actively controlled.
With hypnotic self-confidence you have a secure stand and walk even at heights.
Since fantasy is by definition not real, you can also use it to imagine something positive.
In the hypnotic trance we can directly influence the unconscious events. In this way we can transform the negative thoughts about the heights into positive ones.
If, for example, when hiking on the mountains, a fear of heights appears, we can change our focus to the beautiful nature. In this way ideas that cause fears are repressed.
Those who suffer from vertigo may find this difficult to imagine, but hypnosis makes it possible to change your thoughts.
Since the fear of heights is considered an anxiety disorder, we know that it is somewhat disturbed. The natural functioning would cause a queasy feeling at dangerous heights, but not full panic. This means that if we want to overcome the fear, we should reset the function of the unconscious back to its natural function.
The hypnotherapy makes it possible to do this reset in the trance. This also reduces the fear of fear.
In this way, security and above all calm can be restored in otherwise frightening situations.
In classical psychology, confrontation therapy is considered one of the most promising treatment methods for altitude phobia.
The difficulty in this case is to put the persons concerned in these situations. Since the fear is designed, among other things, to keep us away from dangerous situations, this becomes a difficult task.
Hypnosis has the advantage that the entire confrontation can happen in the hypnotic trance. In this way, clients can simultaneously sit in a chair in the hypnosis practice in Zurich and face the frightening heights. If it should become too much, the trance can be interrupted at any time and the trance can be ended.
In this way it is much easier to control the confrontation with fear in order to effectively get rid of it.
The hypnosis therapy gives us many ins to treat vertigo. With the direct effect in the unconscious, the triggers can be lifted and the fear reduced or even completely defeated.
Anyone who wants to keep a cool head even at lofty heights, hypnosis is highly recommended.
Hypnosis can be a good way to achieve more relaxation. With hypnosis for more calmness, relaxation and inner peace can be achieved. The hypnosis trance in itself is very calming and with the methods of hypnotherapy we can learn to be less disturbed by the environment.
Stressed, irritated, annoyed, angry, fearful, panicky, all of this could be seen as the opposite of calmness. Of course fear and stress do not necessarily have the same triggers, but all these inner states usually have two similar causes.
If you don't have inner peace, it's difficult to be calmness. People with chaos inside can be agitated even in the most relaxed places.
I hear again and again from clients that they could not quite "calm down" even during holidays and in quiet surroundings.
Often in such situations there is an inner dialogue that comments and almost always evaluates everything, and that is negative.
This inner voice often stirs up so much that no serenity can develop.
These tendencies often arise when one has a strong desire for control. This can also include perfectionism when almost everything is not good enough. When this is gnawing at you, it becomes difficult with the relaxed inner mood.
Another cause of inner turmoil can be external influences.
If you cannot separate yourself well enough to keep what is outside out, this can have a negative effect on your inner mood. The unconscious fully accepts the environment, so to speak. The inner atmosphere is therefore fully accepted and kept even if the outside changes.
Noise, conflicts, difficult people and many other things that can come at us from outside can prevent calmness.
So if we want to get more calmness with hypnosis it makes sense to deal with these two aspects.
Now that we know the causes we can also talk about how hypnosis can help to be more relaxed in such cases.
Because with hypnosis we can lead into a trance and give suggestions to the unconscious. These suggestions can cause fundamental changes. This also in areas where the conscious mind has no access.
If you just consciously tell yourself to calm down, it usually does not help. Because the feelings are controlled by the unconscious.
Often hypnosis is the direct path to inner relaxation. This can be the first step to inner peace. You can also learn what it takes to calm yourself down. Findings that you can later use for example for self-hypnosis.
But it is also important to take this inner relaxation out of the hypnotic trance into everyday life.
Someone who doesn't let anything upset him or her, we call someone with a thick skin.
Even if the environment is hectic or unpleasant, someone with a thick skin can still stay calm.
So we let the skin grow thick in the figurative sense. In hypnosis we have different methods for this. Thereby the unconscious learns how to keep the outside out.
You also learn calmness when you can determine yourself what touches and what bounces. I consciously say "learn" because when we can close it is a question of balance where we do it and where we don't. In other words, we learn to differentiate between what we let in and what we don't.
The unconscious is actually very good at filtering negative environmental influences. Sometimes, however, it is blocked by beliefs or "you should rules". If you have learned, for example, that you should always be nice to everybody, it becomes difficult to defend yourself against difficult people and to keep them out.
If, on the other hand, we use hypnosis to allow the unconscious to do it in it's nature intended way, environmental influences are no longer a problem. So by letting go we gain influence and we can use hypnosis to become more resistant to stress.
Whoever has a thick skin can also remain in inner peace and calmness in conflicts or beside someone using a jackhammer.
